The NF-BS01 bar stool is a collaboration between world-renowned architect Norman Foster, Foster + Partners, and the Japanese furniture brand Karimoku Case. Originally developed for a residential project by Foster + Partners, this piece reflects the studio’s architectural clarity and Karimoku’s heritage of refined craftsmanship.

Architectural Precision & Minimal Form
The NF-BS01 is a backless wooden bar stool characterized by precise geometry, soft edge transitions, and perfectly balanced proportions. Every detail expresses Foster’s philosophy of design restraint — beauty through simplicity and proportion.

• Backless structure: visually light and spatially adaptable.

• Optional seat upholstery: available in high-quality textiles or leather for customized comfort.

• Frame: Timber, Pure Oak, Smoked Oak and Grain Matte Black.

• Seat (optional): upholstered in premium fabrics such as Steelcut Trio 3, Hallingdal 65, Vidar, or Coda, or Leabelle leather.

• Surface finish: hand-sanded, matte sealed, emphasizing the natural grain and tactile warmth.
